Sony hat in einem kürzlich stattgefundenen Stream ein neues Gerät für das Streaming von Playstation 5 angekündigt. Dies sieht aus wie ein geteilter Controller mit mittig angebrachtem Bildschirm und soll es möglich machen, seine Spiele von der großen Konsole per Streaming im lokalen Netzwerk zu erleben. Eine Funktion, die es bei Microsoft schon für Xbox One gegeben hat und die kein spezielles Endgerät erforderte. Seine Xbox-Spiele von Konsole konnte man auf alle Geräte übertragen, die die Xbox App ausführen können und eine Kopplung mit dem Controller via Bluetooth oder Kabel ermöglichen haben (z. B. Smartphones, Tablets und Notebooks). Dank xCloud und GamePass kann man inzwischen auch über das Internet streamen und sich somit z. B. im Urlaub im Hotel spielen, ohne die Konsole mitnehmen zu müssen. Der Handheld von Sony wird dies nicht unterstützen, was den Einsatz wohl stark limitieren dürfte.
