CD Projekt RED gibt die Veröffentlichung des Brettspiel The Witcher: Old World bekannt, welches ab sofort bei ausgewählten Händlern bestellt werden kann. Aktuell ist es aber nur in Polnisch und Englisch erhältlich, weitere Sprachen sollen zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt erscheinen.
Das Brettspiel ist für 1-5 Spieler ausgelegt, verfügt also auch über einen Solo-Modus. Es spielt lange vor der Zeit von Gerald of Rivia, als Monster zahlreich und eine permanente Bedrohung waren, Es ist dir Zeit der fünf Hexer-Schulen, die dich dem Kampf stellen.
Entwickelt und herausgegeben wird The Witcher: Old World von Go On Board. Es ist in zwei Versionen erhältlich (Deluxe enthält mehr Miniaturen) und lässt sich mit drei Erweiterungen ergänzen. Mehr Informationen sind auf der offiziellen Webseite zu finden.
300 Zloti sind umgerechnet etwa 68 €. Für die Deluxe-Variante werden sogar 550 Zloti (125 €) fällig. Die drei Erweiterungen kosten zwischen 210 – 250 Zloti (48 – 57 €). Für ein Brettspiel sind die Preise schon eine Ansage, wie ich finde. Da muss das Spiel schon intensiv gespielt werden, damit sich eine Anschaffung lohnt.
Was ich aber nicht verstehe: warum basiert man das auf der Lizenz für das Computerspiel, wenn es doch weit vor dessen Ereignissen angesiedelt ist. Da wäre eine Buchlizenz wohl günstiger gekommen, was man dann auch an den Kunden hätte weitergeben können. Oder sehe ich das falsch?
Ich glaube, dass da CD Projekt RED inzwischen die Rechte für die generelle Vermarktung von Produkten erworben hat. Folglich muss man dann auch bei denen die Lizenz für das Brettspiel beziehen. Außerdem verkauft es sich dadurch sicherlich besser, wenn man sich auf die Computerspiele beziehen kann.
